Running as Coolmore Classic Day Race 4 at 2:25pm (AEDT), this season’s $175,000 Group 3 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) has attracted a capacity field of two-year-old fillies.

The race offers a guaranteed spot in Saturday week’s field in the $3.5 million Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) and Calaway Gal (2nd in 2012) was the last Golden Slipper winner to come off a lead-up run in the Magic Night Stakes.

Lightly-raced I Am Invincible filly Limbo Soul from the local stables of Tim Martin currently heads the Magic Night Stakes odds at Ladbrokes.com.au paying $3.10.

She came up trumps with barrier three, Tim Clark taking over for Adam Hyeronimus who rode her for a smart three and a quarter-length win over 1100m at the Rosehill track on debut on February 22.

The bookies currently have Limbo Soul listed as a $21 shot in pre-field Golden Slipper Stakes betting, a price sure to firm if she remains undefeated on the weekend and makes the field for the world’s richest race for two-year-olds.

Despite the size of Saturday’s race field just three other fillies are under $10 for the win in Magic Night Stakes betting including Tulip ($5) out wide in barrier 11.

Prepared by the on-fire Lindsay Park stable, talented Pierro filly Tulip could come into ten if the sole emergency Seababe (2) fails to gain a start.

The nicely-bred youngster has had three starts to date, all in Melbourne, including her excellent fourth behind stablemate Catchy in the Group 1 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m).

She needs to handle the Sydney way of racing this weekend, but is full of class and down in grade in the Magic Night Stakes.

The other best fancied for the Group 3 win are the rails-drawn Sweet Deal ($5.50) and early market mover Alizee ($6.50) in gate four with English hoop William Buick riding.

John Thompson saddles-up Casino Prince filly Sweet Deal who will need to stay out of trouble from the inside alley in her third career start.

In late January she ran under a length off the winner Teaspoon on debut in the Group 3 Widden Stakes (1100m) at the Rosehill track before her second to Frolic in the Inglis Classic (1200m) at Randwick in mid-February.

Frolic franked the form out of the Inglis Classic last weekend when she came down the far outside in a gun Tommy Berry ride to beat the Golden Slipper Stakes favourite She Will Reign in the Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m).

Alizee has had just the one start to date back in mid-February running fourth over 1000m.

The blue-pedigree daughter of Sepoy represents trainer John O’Shea and the Godolphin stable and has won a subsequent Rosehill trial over 900m in the wet on February 27.
