Gary Portelliâs Golden Slipper Stakes favourite She Will Reign is being freshened-up ahead of an autumn bid that will begin in Februaryâs Silver Slipper Stakes 2017.

The talented young daughter of Manhattan Rain has emerged as Portelliâs premier two-year-old after winning her opening two career starts.
On debut at Kembla Grange on December 10 she broke her maiden status with a blistering eight length win as the odds-on favourite.
She jumped short in betting again last weekend on a Heavy (8) Randwick track and didnât disappoint winning the $500,000 Inglis Nursery (1000m) by four lengths.
Portelli has her out in the paddock and is impressed with how she pulled through her latest win.
The bookies are already wearing of the star potential of She Will Reign who sits top of futures betting at Ladbrokes.com.au for the $3.5 million Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m).
The worldâs richest race for juveniles runs at Rosehill Gardens on March 18 and She Will Reign currently pays $7.50 in pre-field Golden Slipper odds.
To date Portelli has saddled-up five starters in the Golden Slipper Stakes, but is yet to enjoy a top three finish in the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival classic.
He hopes to change that this coming March with She Will Reign who is expected to run first-up on February 18 in the $250,000 Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m).
From there Portelli has the $300,000 Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on March 4 earmarked for his up-and-comer, both races offering a Golden Slipper ballot exemption to the winner.
âShe’ll have 12 days off before she comes back and starts to wind up towards the Silver Slipper and the Reisling,” Portelli told the media this week.
Mossfun (2014) was the last filly to beat home the boys in the Golden Slipper and she came off a Silver Slipper Stakes win and Reisling Stakes second that autumn.
The Gai Waterhouse-trained Overreach (2013) the year before completed the Reisling Stakes â Golden Slipper Stakes double that Portelli is aiming for with She Will Reign.
